Japanese designer Masanori Morikawa established Christian Dada in 2010. Since the first launch, they have steadily secured a reputation for experiments of reimagined classic streetwear silhouettes. They exhibit a wide range of opulent fabrics, pristine knits and recreated traditional cuts. These pieces come bearing off-beat details, opposing textures along with punk-inspired motifs that reverberate the brands Dadaist-referencing name. Recent collection show the label zeroing in on a midpoint between luxury and disdain and simultaneously lining up with emerging youth movements. Morikawas’ cunning approach to embroiderment and quilting emphasises the underlying luxury that is the spirit of the expertly curated collections, creating a concrete identity focused on the splitting design approach that is drawing inspiration from a range of, and sometimes unidentifiable sources.
